The Exploring Space series delves into the technology we use to explore the universe and beyond. From satellites to the space shuttle, humans have planned and constructed the tools and machinery necessary to quench our curiosity about outer space.
Satellites hover above Earth's atmosphere sending information to and from Earth. They make life on Earth easier and allow people to have knowledge and experiences they may not have otherwise.
Satellites in orbit around Earth add to human knowledge of the planet. In space, scientists can study Earth from a distance and view large areas. Pictures from space provide information that helps explain why Earth looks the way it does and where changes are taking place.
