Tundras are regions in the coldest places on Earth. There are two types of Tundra. Arctic tundra is found mainly in the far north of the northern hemisphere, such as the North Pole. Alpine tundra is found on high mountains all over the world, including the Swiss Alps. Tundras have low temperatures, little precipitation, and short growing seasons. Plants and animals have been forced to adapt to these difficult conditions in order to survive.
