Teenagers with conduct disorder have persistent patterns of behavior in which they violate the rights of others, or violate rules that are appropriate for their age. We're not talking here about ordinary adolescent mischief and pranks. Kids with conduct disorders have severe difficulties at home, in school, and in the community; they frequently become sexually active early. Their self-esteem is usually low, although they may project an image of toughness. Teenagers with this disorder are often described as "bad", "delinquent," or "antisocial," when in reality they have a psychiatric condition.
