United Nations: Action Against Terrorism

With a global membership and a commitment to international peace and security, the United Nations is uniquely positioned to play a critical role in the internationl fight against terrorism. Unlike its individual Member States, which often struggle with internal political, economic, and bureaucratic limitations, the UN, as an independent international organization, has the freedom to fight terrorism in ways that individual countries often cannot. The UN has worked hard to establish a meaningful antiterrorist agenda.
